Emily McElwain, born and raised in Sioux City, IA, has been dancing since the age of four.
She began teaching and choreographing at a number of studios at an early age and she continues this pursuit today. Emily received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at the University of Iowa in 2016.
The four years that followed she was in New York City dancing professionally and teaching dance throughout Manhattan at five different Preschool of America schools.
She can be seen dancing in several commercials and live performances including Lincoln Center’s Dance Against Cancer Benefit, a solo performance at the Battery Dance Festival, as Cha Cha in the musical Grease, amongst others.
She’s been a dancer for Dance Lab New York on numerous projects and enjoys exploring choreographic processes with various renown artists in the studio.
She has had the pleasure of working as Jon Ole Olstad’s choreographic/teaching assistant for the last two years, and her favorite gig was dancing in the Jesus Christ Superstar promotional video in Charleston, SC.
Emily is thrilled and honored to join the roster at Fusion Dance in Solana Beach!
